Fall classes available at IS183 Art School

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. - This fall, IS183 Art School will continue to offer art programs for students of all skill levels taught by local area artists. Many classes are structured for beginners with an emphasis on individual instruction.

HARVESTING COLOR: PHOTOGRAPHING THE BERKSHIRES IN THE FALL WITH JASON HOUSTON
Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th; from 6:00 am - 2:00 pm
Spend the weekend photographing the Berkshires during peak foliage with Berkshire Living photographer and Orion magazine picture editor Jason Houston. This two-day workshop teaches basic and advanced techniques for those looking to hone their photography skills during one of the most beautiful seasons in the Berkshires.

PAINTING STUDIO WITH YURA ADAMS
Fridays, starting September 11th; from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Whether you're new to painting or an experienced student looking to develop your technique, join Yura Adams on Friday mornings for a painting class that's customized for all skill levels. Through class demonstrations and individual instruction, beginners are taught basic techniques while more advanced students are challenged to develop their creative expression.

STERLING SILVER GEMSTONE EARRINGS AND PENDANT WITH JAMES KENNEDY
Saturday, September 12th; from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
This workshop is an introduction to jewelry making for students who have little to no experience in the medium. In one day, students learn the fundamentals of metal working to create a pair of earrings or an original pendant.

THE POTTER'S WHEEL WITH BEN EVANS
Wednesdays, starting September 16th; from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
In this ten-week course, beginner and experienced potters will learn to take control behind the potter's wheel. Students new to pottery will learn to center on the potter's wheel, make drinking vessels, bowls, and plates. More experienced potters will be challenged with lids, closed forms, square bowls and plates.

IS183 Art School is a non-profit community art school encouraging people of all ages means and skill levels to enrich their lives through hands-on experience in the visual arts. Located half-way between Great Barrington and Pittsfield in the Interlaken village of Stockbridge, IS183 Art School offers year-round programs in ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber arts, sculpture, mixed media and more for children, teens and adults.

IS183 also offers Young Artist programs during school vacations and summer; birthday parties; custom classes and private lessons. Classes are held during the daytime, evenings and weekends, for all levels from the absolute beginner to the professional artist.
