ADAMS, Mass. - Resonant Foundation is a site specific musical composition performed live in the Greylock Glen. Using the rebar from a failed development that is "growing" from the ground surrounded by forest, composer Nana Simopoulos will perform a commission written specifically for this location.
Accompanied by Erik Leckrone on percussion, Nana Simopoulos will use the rebar as another musical instrument along with the sitar, bouzouki, didgeridoo and vocals. Caryn Heilman will be performing a site specific dance piece among the rebar to its resonant sounds during the musical performance.
Nana Simopoulos is a composer/ instrumentalist who has written many commissions for theater, dance, film and has performed worldwide with her ensemble as well as a soloist for orchestras.
Topia Arts Center is a new performing arts and education center in the center of Adams presenting quality music, arts, dance, visual arts exhibits, theater and educational programming.
