BERKSHIRE COUNTY - Berkshire Community College will offer the following writing and painting workshops at its South County Center in Great Barrington this fall.
“Life Lines” (WKS 931) explores how deadlines are really lifelines for writers. Participants write weekly exercises, increasing their output as they learn techniques of the craft and discipline. The workshop is designed for beginners, as well as published writers. Classes, taught by Sonia Pilcer, meet Thursday evening, Sept. 17 through Nov. 19, from 6 to 8:30. Cost for registration is $225.
“The Autumn Still Life” (WKS 1560) discloses the colors of pumpkins, gourds, apples and corn husks. Participants create an exciting autumn still life using burnt oranges, rich yellows, magnificent reds, and other autumn colors. Classes, taught by Arthur Yanoff, meet Tuesday morning, Sept. 22 through Nov. 10, from 9 to 12. Cost for registration is $225.
“Drawing From the Beginning” (WKS 1579), a new workshop, is a creative basic drawing class for those with little or no experience. Line, technique and shape are explored. Classes, taught by Maj Kalfus, meet Wednesday evening, Sept. 30 through Nov. 4, from 7 to 9. Cost for registration is $120.
