Northern Berkshire Community Coalition Hosts Community Assessment Forum
03:55PM / Tuesday, September 01, 2009
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Please join us for a community forum on Friday, September 11 as we continue our tradition of beginning the new Coalition year with a kick-off forum. This is our opportunity to share observations about the community and to talk about which aspects of life in our region we might focus our attention on in the year ahead.
While we all share a common community, in a sense each of us experiences things differently within that same community. This past year and summer, we have seen lots of changes worth noting. Funding for many community programs has changed. There are new initiatives that have come into our region. People are coping with these difficult economic times, but how? Are you worried about the swine flu this fall? What have you seen in the community that may be different or worth noting?
Come to the September forum and discuss with us what has been happening, and what you think needs to happen, in your Northern Berkshire community. You may want to report about emerging issues in your neighborhood, or concerns you've developed in your professional environment, for your school or service agency. We want to hear from you, as you are the experts within our community. With your input, we'll get a better idea of how the Coalition should focus our agenda for the year ahead. While our meeting may be a couple of weeks away, our blog at the nbCC website is an opportunity to get started in this conversation a bit earlier. To join in the conversation, go to www.nbccoalition.org/forums and look for the thread that says: What issues are important for you?
We will begin on September 11, as always, with a round of introductions, followed by brief announcements of your upcoming events or new projects. Please don't forget to bring flyers about announcements also, as there will be a display table for them in the middle of the room. We will also take a moment to mark the 8th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001.
We hope to see you on Friday, September 11, 10 a.m to noon, at the First Baptist Church in North Adams.
