Two Woman Exhibit at the Milne Library09:11AM / Wednesday, September 02, 2009
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - David & Joyce Milne Public Library in Williamstown is showcasing two artists for the month of September.
Nada Samuels is showing her photography and by profession was a writer and editor who contributed photographs to illustrate her writing. She is also an amateur painter who eventually carried her painterly vision to her private photographs. Her photography attests to her love for bold colors, interest in patterns found in nature and painterly compositions.
The second artist is Jane Howland who has filled the display case with hand made books. Jane became interested in creating hand made books 5 years ago and prior to that she worked as a graphic designer and photographer. She states, “The challenge I face with the creation of a book is in integrating the physical book with its content. In some instances I have gone beyond traditional book form to work in a more sculptural format.
The two artists will host a reception at the Milne Library on Wednesday Sept. 9th from 6:00-7:30 the public is invited and refreshments will be served.
Library hours are Mon –Fri. 10-5:30, Wed. 10-8, and Sat. 10-4. |
