Mammography Dispute The government's issued controversial new guidelines stating that women shouldn't get annual mammograms until age 50, rather than age 40.

ADAMS, Mass. - The Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District will host their eighth annual electronics recycling collection October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Adams Landfill Garage, East Road, Adams. Items that will be accepted include televisions, monitors, computers, telephones, stereos, printers, CD players, VCR’s and speakers. There is a $2 fee for telephones, stereos, speakers, CD players, VCR’s and similar equipment.
The fee for televisions (under 20”), monitors and computer towers is $5. There is a $10 fee for and televisions over 20” and a $20 fee for console TV’s and large copiers. This covers the cost of shipping the electronics to a facility in New Jersey where they are refurbished or broken down to recyclable components and material. Most televisions and monitors contain five pounds of lead that must be removed.
The collection is open to residents of Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, New Ashford, Peru, Savoy, Williamstown and Windsor. Volunteers will staff the collection.
