BCC Players Offer Free Performance for High School Groups
01:13PM / Tuesday, October 13, 2009
PITTSFIELD, Mass. - As part of its ongoing effort to serve the Berkshire community, the BCC Players will offer a free performance of "The Devil’s Disciple" by George Bernard Shaw to high school groups Thursday morning, Oct. 29, at 10 in the Robert Boland Theatre at Berkshire Community College.
A melodrama about the American revolutionary war, this dashing and ironic tale offers a delightful introduction to Shaw’s wry wit and social commentary. The play provides an enjoyable and thought-provoking experience for any student, and should be of particular interest to classes studying theater, English, history, or social studies.
The performance lasts about 1½ hours and is followed by a lively talk-back session where students can question cast members, designers, and the director. Groups of any size are welcome.
