"@theMarket" is a half-hour investment radio show hosted by Bill and Barbara Schmick of Berkshire Money Management, located in Pittsfield, that airs every Friday. Bill Schmick writes weekly financial columns for iBerkshires.
Downing has headed Soldier On since 2001. Soldier On, founded in 1994, provides shelter, counseling, job training and education to veterans.
Downing will be discussing how Soldier On works and their radical new concept in home ownership – Berkshire Veterans Village – which just broke ground here in Pittsfield. This is a first of its kind project in the United States that, if successful, could convert homeless vets into homeowners across America.
He will also discuss The Soldier On Award, which recognizes individuals whose leadership and actions have advanced the goal of ending veteran homelessness, being presented to Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff next week.
A recording will also be available on Berkshire Money Management's Web site, www.berkshiremm.com, every Friday afternoon.
