BMS Brings Free Holiday Program of Voices & Strings to Berkshire Athenaeum
PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Berkshire Music School presents a free holiday program featuring Bing’s Strings, Too, the BMS Student Quartet, and the new Kindred Spirits girls choir at Berkshire Athenaeum Saturday, December 12 at 1pm.Young musicians will perform selections that range from fiddling tunes to Mozart. Carolina Carry leads Kindred Spirits, a choral group of girls from second grade through high school. Members include Hannah Berkel, Miriam Berle, Jordan Bradford, Naomi Brown, Miriam and Phoebe Carry, Sarah Cicchetti, Madeline Coco, Cali Cybulski, Michela and Soleil Laurin, Lily Lothrop, Alexis Mazzeo, Alexandra Mitchell.
Under the direction of Bing Liu, Bing’s Strings, Too members include Cali Cybulski, Mia Flynn, Michela and Soleil Laurin, Alice Marie Sheehan, Aurora Smedvig, Jessica and Stacey Tang, Kevin Tu, and Khali Zabian. The BMS Student Quartet features Cate Byrne, violin; Henry Flynn, cello; Alaina Grygier, violin; and Erika Wainwright, viola.
Carolina Carry also leads the BMS KinderChoirs and summer opera adventures in addition to the new Kindred Spirits group. She earned her MA in Music Composition from City University of New York. Co-founder of D’Arte a Musica, Carolina has worked in theater and national television. Special interests involve the Cantilena Chamber Choir, Saratoga Choral Festival, and the Organization of American Kodaly Educators.
Bing Liu offers viola and violin instruction at BMS. She received her MA inViola Performance from Boston University, and attended the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing China. An international soloist and orchestral performer, she is a member of the Suzuki Association of America.
