Berkshire AHEC Hires Project Coordinator
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Area Health Education Center has hired Bear McHugh to serve as the project coordinator for the Youth Suicide Prevention Project. He will be supporting and advancing the work plan developed by Berkshire County stakeholders.The project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Injury Prevention and Control Program.
Before joining Berkshire AHEC, McHugh has worked in addiction and mental health services for twenty years working with individuals, families and groups developing, implementing and evaluating programs. As the founder of Diversity Matters Corporation, he has provided cultural competency training to many organizations and institutions.
McHugh received his Masters of Social Work from the State University of New York and is licensed as a LICSW. He lives with his family in Pittsfield.
