NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The North Adams 10-year-old All Stars recently repeated as the annual Jimmy Fund Tournament champions. The tournament, which includes 9 and 10-year-olds, raises money to help fund cancer research and treatment for children. Games are played in Pittsfield and include eight teams from Great Barrington, Dalton, Pittsfield and North Adams.

At this year's championship game, Manager Steve Phanuef was honored with a plaque for 20 years with the Jimmy Fund Tournament. To help raise money for the Jimmy Fund, an exhibition softball game will be played at Fallon Field here on Aug. 4, featuring coaches, players and mothers of the players. Games and prizes will be awarded.

The team finished 4-0 with victories over Pittsfield South, Pittsfield West, Great Barrington and Pittsfield North 11-6 in the championship round.

The team will be competing in the Douquette Academy Invitational Tournament Aug. 6-8. Teams from New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island are scheduled to compete.
