Come out for music and laughs for Rebel Sound Records’ first-EVER punk rock comedy night. Showing off their comical talents are comedians doing it big in Boston, including Matt Kona, Mark Jagiello, Sharkee Katz, Drew Bligh, Shawn Donovan, Ted Pettingell, Mick Greenwood, and Jay Petrone. Friday: Ricky Nelson Remembered @ the Colonial
Friday night, join Matthew & Gunnar Nelson and The Stone Canyon Band in remembering the legendary Ricky Nelson. Nelson was one of the most beloved and cherished artists of his time, but at the height of his career, a plane crash took his life. Now, 25 years later, Nelson’s sons and band pay tribute to him in a multi-media rock ‘n’ roll concert featuring some of his biggest hits, including Garden Party and Travelin’ Man.

Saturday & Sunday: Storefront Artist Project Presents The Art of Mark Martin
On Saturday, Storefront continues its annual Comic Book and Cartoon Art exhibition series with a free, family-friendly exhibition: Comic and Cartoon Art Comes Alive: The Art of Mark Martin. Martin has worked in and out of the comics field for 24 years, creating comical worlds which include SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Then, on Sunday, enjoy a day full of free programs, including Monster Drawing for the kids, and a Sign and Sketch session.

Saturday & Thursday: New art at Ferrin Gallery
Saturday, Maggie Mailer's solo show, The Balloonists, opens at the Ferrin Gallery. Her paintings tell a tale of a post-apocalyptic world whose beings live above the earth, suspended by balloons. Thursday at the Gallery, talk with ceramic artist Mark Shapiro about his third solo exhibition, Bottles and other Muses. The conversation will include discussion of how modern style design is referenced, integrated, and incorporated in his current work.

Expect a Saturday night full of laughter at the Colonial Theatre, as Emmy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated husband and wife team Renée Taylor and Joe Bologna star in this comedy, which celebrates their acting-writing partnership and three-decade love affair. Taylor is best known for portraying Fran Drescher’s mother, Sylvia, on The Nanny. Bologna’s film credits include Blame it on Rio and Big Daddy, where he played Adam Sandler’s father.
