North Adams Schools Set Opening Day 2015

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elementary students in grades K-8 will begin school on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The first three days of school will be early dismissal days.

At Drury High School, students in Grade 8  along with any students newly transferring from another school will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 2. On Thursday and Friday, Sept. 3-4, all students in Grade 8 through 12 will attend. Again, the first three days of school will be early dismissal days.
 
Regular starting and dismissal times for students are:
  • Elementary Schools: 8:40 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.
  • Pre-kindergarten (a.m. session):  8:40 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
  • Pre-kindergarten (p.m. session):  11:55 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Drury High School:  7:40 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.  (late bell at 7:43 a.m.)
On early release days, elementary schools are dismissed at 11:30 a.m. and students at the high school are released at 11 a.m.

Cancellations and delays are listed on television on Channels 6, 10, and 13, and on the radio at WBEC FM 95.9, WUPE FM 100.1 and AM 1110, WNAW AM 1230, WBRK AM 1340 and FM 101.7. They are also posted on the District’s website as well as on iBerkshires.

Additionally, families are contacted via School Messenger. The district encourages families to provide a secondary number for School Messenger in the event of an unscheduled early release. Please make sure your child(ren)'s school has your current telephone number(s) on file as well as an e-mail address.  You may contact Ellen Sutherland at esutherland@napsk12.org or at 413-776-1458 to update information or to provide a second contact number.

Breakfast will be served at all schools starting Sept. 2; breakfast and lunch will be served at all schools beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 8. One breakfast and one lunch are available daily free of charge. Additional meals may be purchased for a fee. Finger scanning will no longer be used. All schools will be open 9 to 3 beginning Wednesday, Aug. 26, to conduct school business, including the registration of new students.
