DALTON, Mass. — The local blues trio T Bone Daddy is debuts its new EP "River of Blues" at a launch party at Flavours in Pittsfield this month.

"We are very excited about this release," said guitarist and vocalist Tyler Fairbank. "We really have a great energy when we play live and we really feel like we captured that energy in this EP."

The band members, which also includes Paul Cowan (bass, backing vocals) and Lou Parreault (drums, vocals), are all Berkshire natives who formed T Bone Daddy in 2009.

The band has played regionally at venues from small hilltown clubs to larger regional music events while also working on this latest production. Their first EP, "Deluxe," was released in December 2010.

"I have played in too many bands to count and never have I enjoyed a playing music this much," said drummer Parreault. "We just clicked right from the get go. No egos, no issues, just great energy. That really translates into giving our audiences a great show."

The band says it tries to honor the heritage and traditions of the blues while keeping things relevant and fresh. Influenced by blues legends like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton, and more modern blues artists like John Mayer and Joe Bonamassa, TBD plays a combination of original material and re-crafted cover songs.

Cowan said the band has been using the extended play format for five songs on their compat discs.
"This format grew very popular in rap and hip hop, and we like it," he said. "It gives listeners the perfect dose of an artist."

TBD has played performances with Entrain, Tony Lee Thomas, Jack Waldheim and the Criminal Hearts, Misty Blues, Grind, Unfulfilled Desires, Poor Becket Rebels and Whisky City, and has shared the stage with Charles Neville.

The release party and show begins at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, and goes to 1. Tony Lee Thomas will be making a guest performance between sets. Tickets are $5 and available at Flavours on McKay Street, Wood Bros. Music in the Allendale Shopping Plaza or at www.tbonedaddytrio.com
