ADAMS, Mass. — Town officials will wait five more days before opening the bids for the $2 million infrastructure project at the Greylock Glen.

The town has $4 million worth of paving and utilities installation planned for the Glen and the state kicked in $2 million from the supplemental budget bill to get things rolling. The work includes excavation, paving, water, sewer, electrical and gas improvements and drainage on Thiel and Gould roads.

Bids were due on Friday but Director of Community Development Donna Cesan said they have pushed back the deadline until April 4 because some of the contractors had additional questions. On March 12, town officials held a site visit with contractors to go over the project.

The project was designed by the engineering firm Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, who will also serve as the project managers. The funding was for "shovel-ready" projects and must be under contract by June.
