Friday-Sunday: Last Weekend of The Old Mezzo at the Berkshire Museum The world premiere of WAM Theatre's The Old Mezzo is a critic's favorite! Alyssa, the mezzo soprano of the title, is driven by the recent death of a famous conductor to teach a master class concerning the Politics of Singing. The class becomes a play within a play, exploring extraordinary scenes from Alyssa's life. The production is also a benefit for Shout Out Loud Productions, which works to raise awareness of the scourge of child trafficking. Sunday: Sorry, Wrong Number at Lichtenstein Town Players of Pittsfield presents a staged reading of Sorry, Wrong Number by Lucille Fletcher, the story of a spoiled bedridden daughter of a millionaire who inadvertently learns of a murder plot. The play originally aired on the Suspense radio program on May 25, 1943, with Agnes Moorehead as Mrs. Leona Stevenson. Mrs. Stevenson will be read by Melanie Rivers.
