National Weather Service Issues Wind Chill Advisory
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Wind chills are expected to be between 15 to 25 degrees below zero overnight. The advisory remains in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday until noon on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service suggests that those venturing out wear a warm coat, gloves and to cover your head to protect against frostbite and hypothermia.
Other impacts of extremely cold temperatures include hypothermia for pets, frozen or broken water pipes in homes, disabled vehicles, carbon monoxide poisoning due to insufficient ventilation of alternate hear source and potential chimney fires for those who may have no cleaned the chimney.
