Get the chance to Meet the Artists participating in the fourth edition of "100 Hours in the Woodshed". This biennial brings together dozens of artists from Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire and elsewhere for a five-day marathon of collage-making at MCLA Gallery 51. "100 Hours in the Woodshed"- masterminded by collage artist Daniel O' Connor- begins January 24. An exhibition of the work made during the 100 hours will be on view starting Jan 29.

"Place-based prosperity" will be the theme of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' (MCLA) spring semester Green Living Seminar Series. The series begins with "The Return of Placecraft" by Jennifer Krouse and Iam Rasmussen. This presentation is the first offering in a 12-week series that will consider issues of sustainability and how they can promote the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the north Berkshire region.

After leading the USSR to a gold medal (and a victory over the USA) at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, Lithuanian basketballs starts Sarunas Marciulionis and Arvydas Sabonis were poster bots for their oppressor's sports machine. Four years later, after the fall of the Soviet Union, they emerged as symbol of democracy, helping their country break free from the shackles of Communism and willing the newly independent Lithuania to the medal stand at the Barcelona Olympics. Slam I Am is a teen event. This is for anyone under 21 to come out and listen, celebrate, read, perform, compete, slam, and generally revel in the world of spoken word poetry. In order to maintain the integrity and success of this event, Slam I Am is taking a brief break from the monthly slams. It will resume in April,which is National Poetry Month! In order to re-start in April, Slam I Am needs young leaders to organize the following areas: publicity, management, and event coordination and team members to help out.

WinterFest Ice Sculpting
Deadline February 9, 2013

The Office of Tourism & Community Events is looking for North Adamsbusinesses to sponsor blocks of ice to be sculpted on Main Street during our annual WinterFest on February 23rd. The cost of a block of ice is $75. Businesses are invited to sponsor a block of ice, but anyone who is interested can sculpt. If you would be interested in sculpting but aren't able to pay the $75 fee, we may be able to place you with a business in need of an ice sculptor. Sekou Sundiata Revisited aims to create a video montage using footage created by, and starring, Sekou's friends, fans, collaborators, colleagues and students. Please participate and share this invitation with others. Please record yourselves reading Sekou's poem "Blink Your Eyes". You do not need to record it all in one "perfect" take. We just request that you record yourself reading/performing the entire poem. Any digital format can be submitted via email,Julia@mappinternation.org or yousendit.com. Ferrin Gallery seeks 20 artists over and 20 artists under the age of 40 for Ceramic Top 40 I 2013. This exhibition will present the "it" artists currently working in conceptual utilitarian and sculptural ceramics. The show seeks to identify those working on the cutting edge of current processes, ideas, and presentation concepts by both the up-an-coming generation of artists and established artists who are breaking new ground. One artist from the group exhibition will be awarded a solo show during 2014.
