Drury graduate Taylor DeSanty will be playing for Colby-Sawyer on Friday night in hopes of a conference title.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Not one but two women with ties to Drury High School will hit the hardwood tonight at Vermont's Castleton State College with a conference title and a chance at the NCAA Division III tournament on the line.

Drury graduate Taylor DeSanty and Cailin Bullett, the granddaughter of Bucky Bullett, are senior captains and standouts on the Colby-Sawyer College women's basketball team, which travels to central Vermont tonight for the semi-finals of the North Atlantic Conference tournament.

Colby-Sawyer of New London, N.H., takes on New England College at 8 p.m. in the second half of a double-header that features top-seeded and defending NAC Champion Castleton.

DeSanty and Bullett have been a big part of the Chargers' success for four years and never more than during their current 21-5 campaign.

Earlier this season, in the same game just 15 minutes apart from one another, DeSanty became their school's all-time leading scorer and Bullett, who hails from Millbury, took over the top spot on the school's all-time assist chart ... from 2005 Colby-Sawyer grad Erika DeSanty, Taylor's cousin and the women's golf coach at Williams College.

"Since Taylor set her record first and Cailin broke the assist record later, there were 10 or 15 minutes of actual basketball play where Taylor was the all-time scorer and Erika was the all-time leader in assists," said Colby-Saywer coach George Martin, who has been at the school for 19 seasons and has won 369 games.

DeSanty has scored 1,743 points and averaged 16.3 points per game with a 39 percent field goal percentage in four years. She also holds the Colby-Sawyer career records for field goals made (649) and 3-pointers made (213).

Bullett has 570 career assists to go with 1,221 points of her own. She has 324 career free throws and needs just 25 more to take over first on the school's list in that category.

The dynamic backcourt picked up more accolades this week when DeSanty was named NAC Player of the Year for the second straight year and Bullett was named first-team all-conference.

Correction: An earlier headline was incorrect: Bullett was raised and attended high school in Millbury.
