HANCOCK, Mass. — Applications are being accepted to the Lola Green Scholarship, a one-time grant of $250-$500 for a graduating high school senior from Berkshire County who is planning to study Latin or the Classics in college.
The scholarship will be awarded based on scholastic achievement with emphasis on Latin study and related activities, as well as demonstrated leadership and good moral character.
Greene worked at Mount Greylock Regional High School from 1984 through 2000. During this time, she developed the school's Latin program and Junior Classical League into a successful program. She ran toga and catapult contests, won numerous teaching awards and as her place in the school's Hall of Fame.
