North Adams Schools Disavows Insurance Marketer

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The school system is warning parents that an insurance vendor calling them is in no way affiliated with the public schools.

According to Superintendent of Schools James E. Montepare:

Last spring, The American Income Life Insurance Co. requested and received permission from the North Adams Public Schools to send home information to families regarding a free Child Safe Kit. It has been brought to our attention by the North Adams Police Department that this company has misrepresented itself.

The "free" child safe kits are actually the basis for a sales call where the American Income Life Insurance Co. solicits parents to purchase life insurance policies. The name of the individual contacting parents is Marcel Mazeau.
If you are contacted by Mr. Mazeau, or any other representative of the American Life Insurance Co., please be aware that the North Adams Public Schools does not endorse their company nor are we partnering with them in any way.

We regret any confusion this may have caused.
