Morningside Neighborhood Pride Night 2013 Set For June 4
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Morningside Initiative and Morningside Parents Teacher Organization will host the ninth annual Morningside Neighborhood Pride Night on Tuesday, June 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morningside Community School, located on 100 Burbank St.
Pride Night is designed to bring out the residents who live in the Morningside neighborhood and the people who work in the area. As the name of the event suggests, the purpose of the event is to instill a sense of pride in the neighborhood and aid in the revitalization of the Morningside area.
During the event there will be demonstrations, activities and games for kids. The principal of Morningside School will provide music for the event. A resource fair will take place in the gymnasium of the school that will provide attendees with information on local resources and services available. There will be hot dogs available for purchase. A bounce house will be set up in the gym along with the resources fair.
Outside of the school, the Berkshire Health Systems Community Outreach Van will provide more services and activities.
The event is free to attend. For the ninth consecutive year, the neighborhood pride march around the Morningside School block -- Cherry Street, Lincoln Street, Second Street and Burbank Street -- to showcase the pride the residents have for their community.
