The Clark Art was honored for 'putting the Berkshires on the map.'

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute was honored Wednesday night for "putting the Berkshires on the map."

1Berkshire, the umbrella organization for the Chamber of Commerce, Berkshire Creative and the Berkshire Visitors Bureau, held its third annual Celebrate the Berkshires event at Spice Dragon.

During the award ceremony, the Clark reeled in the top honor with the "Putting the Berkshires on the Map Award," which was won by Jacob's Pillow last year.

1Berkshire CEO Reggie Cooper led the ceremony as the organization presented eight other awards. The Clark not only took the top honor but also took home an award for "growing and advancing the Berkshire economy."

Brad Felix, of Pittsfield, was named the Young Professional Making a Difference for his work with the Berkshire United Way, the Berkshire Young Professionals and Northern Berkshire Relay for Life.



The Mount won an award for public relations for its 150th anniversary celebration and marketing.

First Fridays Artwalk received the Overall Marketing award while Tara Consolati Marketing & PR won the award for Marketing on a Shoestring, an award for best marketing on a limited budget.

Berkshire Family Focus, a family events and activities website, took home an award for Newcomer of the Year while Community Access to the Arts was named the Nonprofit of the Year.

The celebration included final bidding on the Berkshires Dream Auction that included more than 250 items ranging from antiques and art to summer camps. Proceeds from the auctoin benefit the Berkshires Marketing Fund.

MassDOT: South County Road Work

BECKET, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing crews will be conducting daytime and overnight hour guardrail repair, drainage work, bridge repair, and tree trimming operations at various locations and times on I-90 eastbound and westbound during the week of Sunday, April 14.
 
Lane closures will be in place during the construction operations and traffic will be able to travel through the work zones.  The schedule for the work and lane closures will be as follows: 
 
Otis/Blandford 
Guardrail repair operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 westbound between mile marker 21.0 and mile marker 26.0 from Monday, April 15, through Thursday, April 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19. 
Drainage work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound between mile marker 21.0 to 24.0 from Monday, April 15, through Thursday, April 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19. 
 
Blandford
Bridge repair work will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 26.4 from Monday, April 15 through Thursday, April 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19.
 
Russell
Tree trimming work will be conducted on I-90 westbound between mile marker 33.0 to mile marker 36.0, from Tuesday, April 16 through Friday, April 19, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
