PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The 69th annual Halloween Parade, sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union, steps off Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
The parade route will begin on Tyler Street at the corner of Tyler and Smith, and end at Woodlawn Avenue. The Department of Community Development Recreation Program operates the parade.
The following roads will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.:
Tyler Street from First Street to Pine Street
Burbank Street from Smith Street to Morningside School
The remainder of the route, Tyler Street from Pine Street to Woodlawn Avenue, will be closed at 6:30 p.m. There will be "no parking" on these streets after 5 p.m.
Trick-or-treat in Pittsfield is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 citywide. Please leave your lights on if you are participating in Trick-or-Treat.
Original post on Sept. 9, 2013: The city's Department of Community Development Recreation Program is seeking participant's the Pittsfield Halloween Parade, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
Every unit must complete a general entry form, and those with floats must also fill out the float entry form. Both forms are due on Friday, Oct. 4.
There will also be a float — mandatory for at least one representative per group -- on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. in room 203 of City Hall. All float entries must be Halloween related.
In addition, all new parade participants must attend a meeting on Monday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. in room 203 of City Hall.
