Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Offers 24 Scholarships

SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Twenty-four scholarship funds in Berkshire County managed by Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation are accepting applications by April 1. Guidelines and application information are available at www.berkshiretaconic.org/SearchScholarships.

The funds accepting applications are:

• Charles and Elinore Agar Scholarship: Students eligible for this $500 scholarship are graduating seniors of Monument Mountain Regional High School who are entering their first year of a two- or four-year college or university with a particular interest in science, engineering, history or creative writing.

• William and Margery Barrett Scholarship Fund: $5,000 renewable scholarship over four years ($1,250 per year) to graduating public high school seniors who are residents of Adams, Cheshire or Savoy planning to attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute.

• Nicholas Boraski Family Scholarship Fund: $10,000 renewable scholarship over four years ($2,500 per year) is available to high school seniors who are residents of Berkshire County, graduating from a public high school and planning to attend a two- or four-year college.

• Caligari Family Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship available to graduating seniors from Monument Mountain Regional High School who are entering their first year of a two- or four-year college or university with a goal of pursuing a career in an art or design-related field.

• Winthrop Crane Fund for Graduate Student Aid: Provides scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 to graduates of Wahconah Regional High School who are enrolled in or planning to enroll in post graduate studies at an accredited college or university. This scholarship has its own application form. Follow the prompts on BTCF's website.

• Zenas Crane Fund for Student Aid: Provides scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students who are graduates of Wahconah Regional High School enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university. This scholarship has its own application form. Follow the prompts on BTCF’s website.

• Honorable James P. Dohoney Scholarship Fund: Graduating seniors from Monument Mountain Regional High School, Mount Everett Regional High School, Lenox Memorial High School or Lee High School, who are enrolled in a two- or four-year college program, are eligible for these $1,000 scholarships. Criteria are significance of the scholarship to the student, demonstration of motivation to succeed in pursuing a two- or four-year college degree, financial need and academic potential.

• Fairbank Family Scholarship Fund: Provides annual scholarships of $1,000 to two- or four-year college bound and/or vocational training-bound graduating seniors who are dependents of employees of Jiminy Peak or Centerplate employees working at Jiminy Peak.

• Housatonic School Scholarship Fund: This scholarship ranging from $500 to $1,000 is available to graduates of the former Housatonic School who are enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university, vocational school, trade school or apprenticeship.

• The Jamie Fund: $1,000 scholarships available to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Berkshire County for at least two years who will attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute in the United States to study music or the vocational arts (automotive/mechanical/electrical technology or any of the trades).

• Dana Labbee Scholarship Fund: One $1,000 scholarship available to a graduating Hoosac Valley High School senior who will attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute to study political science, mediation, communications or pre-law.

• Guido Masiero Scholarship Fund: $1,000 scholarship available to graduating seniors at Monument Mountain Regional High School and Manchester Essex Regional High School who are entering their first year of a two- or four-year college or university to pursue studies in physical education, health and wellness, or business studies.

• McLaughlin-Wilson Scholarship Fund: Students who have lived in Monterey for the last two years of high school are eligible for scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $7,500, which may include awards over multiple years. Merit is the primary criterion.

• Monroe England/Scott Scholarship Fund: $2,000 scholarship for graduating seniors of public high schools in Berkshire County who are scholar athletes and planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university.

• Myrtle and Raymond Mercier Scholarship Award: One $4,500 scholarship available to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of the town of Stockbridge.

• Emma Miller Scholarship Fund: $1,000 scholarship available to graduating high school seniors who are residents of Adams, Cheshire or Savoy who will attend an accredited college, university, vocational-technical or professional institute in the United States and for whom this award will have a significant impact.

• William J. Newton Scholarship Fund: $1,000 scholarship available to residents of Berkshire County who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a two-year program at a community college or a technology curriculum in a community college, technical, vocational or trade school.

• The New World Fund Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship available to newly arrived immigrants who are studying toward a degree at Berkshire Community College.

• Antonio and Antoinette Pieropan Scholarship Fund: This $6,000 renewable scholarship over four years ($1,500 per year) is available to high school graduates from Stockbridge or West Stockbridge who are 21 years or younger at the date of application who are pursuing vocational (or other non-traditional) degrees in the trades, technical fields or in getting a certificate from a professional training program that will assist them in advancing their work in the field of their choice.

Quality Printing Scholarship: Provides annual scholarships of $1,000 to children of employees of the Quality Printing Company. The scholarship is renewable for all four years of college.

• Rhoda Rubin Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund: $1,000 scholarship for residents of Berkshire County who are pursuing a degree of any kind in nursing at Berkshire Community College.

• Esther Samuels and Mabel Cornman Educational Scholarship Fund: $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior of Lenox Memorial High School who is entering their first year of a two year or four year nationally accredited college or university. This may include vocational schools, trade schools or apprenticeships.

• William Stanley Scholarship Fund: $12,000 scholarship ($3,000 per year for up to four years) is available to a Berkshire County resident, based on academic achievement and financial need, who is planning to attend a two or four year college.

• West Stockbridge Grange Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship to graduating high school seniors from Great Barrington, Richmond, West Stockbridge or Stockbridge who intend to pursue careers that will benefit their communities.

• Women's Club of the Berkshires Scholarship Fund: $1,000 scholarship for female students who are residents of Berkshire County and are going to pursue a career that will benefit girls and women in Berkshire County.
