Letters: BArT Trivia Fundraiser Raises More Than $16K

Letters to the EditorPrint Story | Email Story

To the Editor,

On Saturday, May 3, Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter Public School hosted our seventh annual Get BArT Smart fundraiser – and raised $16,402 (net) for the school's college preparatory programs! Nearly 100 people attended – and relived their high school years through our team trivia game. A huge thank you to all who played and made it a great evening!

The night couldn't have happened without the support of over a hundred local organizations and businesses.

Our High Honor Roll sponsors, Adams Community Bank, Amanda Jones Photography, Meehan Electronics, Scarafoni Associates, Smith Watson & Company LLP and VoIP Logic all played an important part in the evening's success.

We also thank our Honor Roll sponsors: Ozzie & Monica Alvarez, Bounti-Fare Restaurant & Catering, Wade Davis & Jennifer Mascarenhas, Donovan & O'Connor LLP, DuFour Inc., Firehouse Café, Friends of the High Line, Tom & Dianne Leavitt, Minerva Arts Center, The Reading Institute, Walt Disney World Co. and Whitman's Crystal Clean.

The list above doesn't include 80-plus additional local businesses that donated goods and services to the event for auction items and prizes or sponsored us at the "Sponsor" level.

BArT has a geographically diverse student body, with over 300 students in Grades 6-12 from throughout the county. Businesses from all corners of Berkshire County helped support our students through their generous sponsorships and donations.

Finally, many thanks to the trustees, faculty, staff, parent volunteers and others who contributed their time, money, and effort to make this event happen. Their dedication to the BArT community is truly humbling.

Sincerely,

Geraldine Shen
BArT Board of Trustees
