Whether you’re an aspiring screenwriter or a fan of movies in general, Williamstown Film Festival’s Project Screenplay invites you to take part in a live-action game show about the art of the pitch hosted by screenwriter Andrew Osborne. You decide who gets the green light when aspiring screen scribes pitch the audience and act out scenes while industry pros offer tips and advice for bringing a script from page to projector.

Dean Cycon is the Founder and CEO of Dean's Beans Organic Coffee Company, a certified 100% organic, fair trade and kosher coffee roasting operation in Orange, Massachusetts, USA.  Dean has over thirty years of development work and activism in indigenous communities, including coffee villages, in Asia, Africa and Latin America.  Dean is a co-founder of Coffee Kids (a non-profit development group), and of Cooperative Coffees, the world's first fair trade roaster's cooperative.  Dean has been a Woods Hole Research Fellow, a Senior Fulbright Scholar, and a Yale Law School Visiting Fellow. He created Dean's Beans to prove that business can promote positive economic, social, and environmental change at the third world source, and be profitable at the same time.  Dean's Beans has grown steadily over the past nineteen years and has stayed on its mission.

The production is directed by Jackie DeGiorgis and features Lauren Andrews, Brad Botto, Michelle Jensen, Andrew Rosenburg, Sam Therrien and Liz Urban. Performances will be Nov. 7 and 14 at 8 p.m., Nov. 8 and 15 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. at the Mill City Theatre in Building 4N (next to the Visitor's Center) of the Western Gateway Heritage State Park in North Adams. Join in on an evening titled Tony Gilroy: The Art of Suspense, presented by the Williamstown Film Festival and MASS MoCA, constant collaborators for 15 years of fantastic film events. Gilroy is best known as the keeps-you-at-the-edge-of-your-seat writer and director of thrillers such as the acclaimed Michael Clayton, starring George Clooney and Tilda Swinton, who won an Academy Award for best supporting actress. The film - Gilroy's directorial debut - captured six more Oscar nominations including best picture and best original screenplay for Gilroy. His other credits include screenplays for the four wildly popular Bourne films - The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, and The Bourne Legacy (which he also directed).

Don’t miss a very special concert with Craig Harris and the Dartmouth College Barbary Coast Jazz Band as they celebrate the music of Sun Ra. Sun Ra (1914-1993) was a musician, philosopher, poet, composer, keyboardist, arranger and catalyst. Craig Harris performed with the Sun Ra Arkestra for three years and has gone on to perform with some of progressive jazz' most important figures.

Williams College invites you to experience the wonders of our universe! Astronomy students at the college will host free shows for the public on the following Friday evenings at 8 p.m.: Sept 12, 19, and 26; October 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31; November 7, 14, 21, and 28; and December 5.  Audiences will be treated to shows from the high-precision Zeiss Skymaster ZKP3/B opto-mechanical planetarium projector, installed in April 2005. For reservations (recommended) contact Michele Rech at (413) 597-2188 or email at mcr4@williams.edu. Others will be admitted as space permits. Large groups should call for special appointments. Shows will last about 50 minutes.
