K&M Motors Unbeaten in YMCA's Whitney League

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Morgan Sarkis scored six points, and Jacinta Felix and Alyssa Russel each had four to lead K&M Motors to an 18-14 win over Flynn & Dagnoli in their season opener in the Whitney Girls Basketball League Junior Division at the Northern Berkshire YMCA.
 
Gabby Billetz scored a game-high 10, and Faith Moran had four for Flynn & Dagnoli.
 
Landmark Credit Union won its opener in a defensive struggle with H.A. George. Brooke Bishop and Emily Feder each had four to lead Landmark to a 10-4 win. Lauren Mroz and Gabriella Heller split the scoring for H.A. George.
 
K&M stayed unbeaten in Week 2 action withan 18-2 win over H.A. George. Sarkis and Isabelle Champney each scored four in the win, while Mroz had two for H.A. George.
 
Billetz scored six to lead Flynn and Dagnoli to a bounceback win over Landmark, 9-2. Megan McGrath provided the scoring for Landmark.

Senior Golf Series Returns in September

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Berkshire County Fall Senior Golf series returns in September with events on five consecutive Wednesdays starting Sept. 18.
 
It is the 22nd year of the series, which is a fund-raiser for junior golf in the county, and it is open to players aged 50 and up.
 
The series will feature two divisions for each event based on the combined ages of the playing partners.
 
Golfers play from the white tees (or equivalent) with participants 70 and over or who have a handicap of more than 9 able to play from the forward tees.
 
Gross and net prices will be available in each division.
 
The cost is $55 per event and includes a round of golf, food and prizes. Carts are available for an additional fee.
 
Golfers should call the pro shop at the course for that week's event no sooner than two weeks before the event to register.
