There will be ice and snow at this year's WinterFest event in North Adams on Saturday, Feb. 21.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — North Adams has a great way to shake those winter blues!

The city will host WinterFest on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This family-friendly, day-long event includes sledding, snowshoeing, hot chocolate, a chowder competition, ice sculpting, horse-drawn wagon rides, a community camp fire and more. Festivities will wrap up at the North Adams Skating Rink, with a skate party from 2 to 4 p.m.

This year brings a few new activities in addition to traditional favorites like the chowder competition and ice sculpting. In addition, on Main Street, the MountinOne lobby will have free face painting, cookies and cocoa and McCann Technical School FTC Robotics Team will be showing off its robot. Berkshire Emporium & Antiques will have the Blueberry Buckle Trio entertaining along with berry treat sampling and specials on berry-themed items.
