WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Craig Kitto scored midway through the first overtime to give the Williams College men's hockey team a 4-3 win over two-time defending NESCAC champion Bowdoin in the league quarter-finals on Saturday at Lansing Chapman Rink.
The fourth-seeded Ephs (15-8-2 overall) will play third-seeded Connecticut College in the semi-finals next weekend at Amherst.
The second-seeded Jeffs earned the right to host the league's Frozen Four when top-seeded and second-ranked Trinity was upended by eighth-seeded Tufts, which earned its first ever NESCAC tournament win with the upset.
For Williams, Alex DeBaere had a goal and an assist. His tally midway through the first gave the Ephs a 3-1 lead.
But the Polar Bears (14-8-3) rallied with two goals in a six-minute span. The second, from Brendan Conroy with 1 minute, 37 seconds left in regulation, sent the game into overtime.
Sean Dougherty made 44 saves to earn the win.
Williams and Conn College split the season series, with the Ephs winning 2-1 in Williamstown and the Camels winning 3-1 in New London, Conn.
