CHESHIRE, Mass. — The Performing Arts Department of Hoosac Valley Middle and High School will bring the musical "Grease" to the stage this weekend.

Jacob Keplinger, instrumental music and technical director said he and director Kate Frissel first brought "Grease" to Hoosac Valley a decade ago.

"We chose 'Grease' because we really enjoy it," Keplinger said. "Kate Frissell and I did it together our first year at Hoosac 10 years ago and said we'd like to do a 10-year revival of it so here we are."

Keplinger said nearly 45 students are involved in the musical in some way. He said students perform, work backstage, help with lights and sound, and play in the band.

The size of this production is about on the same scale as most of our productions at Hoosac. The cast size is a little larger, but not by much," Keplinger said.

The performance stars Aaron Holman-Vittone as Danny and Hannah Koczela as Sandy. Elaine Melillo plays Rizzo and Trevor Ciempa plays Kenicckie.

Keplinger said the students are excited to perform such a classic musical.

The kids really love this show, and it's a classic, they are really into it," he said. "It's a fun show, and I hope lots of people come out to see it."

Stage and choreography direction is by Kate Frissell, assistant stage manager is Jamie LaMour, and Vocal direction is by Bronwyn Niece.

Performances will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 26-28 at 7 p.m. in the Hoosac Valley Middle and High School auditorium. Tickets cost $7 for students and $10 for adults; they can be purchased at the door.
