Northern Berkshire Relay for Life Set Friday Night
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The annual Northern Berkshire Relay for Life kicks off Friday at the walking track at Noel Field Athletic Complex.
The opening ceremonies and Survivor Walk start at 6 p.m. and the Luminaria Ceremony, during which candles are lit in honor and memory of friends and family members who have battled cancer, will happen at 9 p.m.
This year there is an added survivor dinner that will take place at the event at 4 p.m., prior to the opening ceremony.
Hundreds of residents will walk the track between 6 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday to raise funds for cancer research and support through the American Cancer Society. Each team will have at least one participant on the track at all times.
There will also be other fundraising efforts, including sales and raffles, and refreshments.
Relays will also take place in Central/South County on June 19-20 at Monument Mountain High School in Great Barrington. The Survivor Walk will also take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
