NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The North Adams Little League's Morrison Berkshire team handed Mountain One its first loss of the season Wednesday evening with a 9-6 victory in the second game of the best of three City Championship series at Fallon Field.

The teams will meet again on Friday for a winner-takes-all Game 3.

Wednesday's winnning rally came in the third inning for Morrison Berkshire and started with an RBI single for Justin Cowell. It was then followed by a two-run double from Omar Uqdah and an RBI single for Sean Summer to make it 6-1  after three innings.

In the top of the fourth inning Morrison Berkshire pitcher Cowell, loaded the bases with two outs, but he fought back, getting the next man to strike out and allowing no runners to score.

Morrison Berkshire scored its final three runs in the fifth inning with back-to-back triples from Summer and Cole Benoit.

"Coming into tonight's game, that team is undefeated. They were 22-0; they have real good pitching," Morrison Berkshire coach John Moulton said. "We've been working hard in practice and all of my guys have been hitting the ball well. And we focused in on hitting their fast ball, and we hit it good tonight."

In the top of the sixth inning, Ben Moulton took over on the mound for Cowell; Moulton saw one batter and then was replaced by Ethan Gagne.

Mountain One loaded the bases and scored two runs on wild pitches. Hunter Sarkis tagged up on a hit from Jackson Owensby and put them behind by three; where the scored remained after the next three batters grounded out.

"We had a six-run lead and I had a choice, I was pretty much using my last pitcher so if I take that pitcher out with a six-run lead and we lose the game we're done, so I had a big decision," Moulton said. "So I decided to take that pitcher out and put a 9-year-old in, and he was huge, so now we have pitching for Game 3, we're in pretty good shape."

The two teams will meet back up at Fallon Field Friday evening at 5:45 p.m. to decide the league title.
