Adams Community Bank Promotes Two Employees

ADAMS, Mass. — Adams Community Bank has announced the promotion of two of its employees: Laurie Boudreau to vice president compliance officer and Brenda Hamilton to CSR/IRA administrator.

“I am very proud to announce the promotion of these two individuals who are both strong contributors to the success of our bank,” said Charles P. O’Brien, president and chief executive officer. “I congratulate them for their hard work and dedication to their careers here at Adams Community Bank.”

Boudreau is responsible for being well-versed in the complex state and federal compliance requirements as well as providing strong support to staff through training. She is also responsible for monitoring to ensure that the bank is in compliance. She joined the bank as a teller in August of 1989 and has more than 25 years of banking experience in several areas of the bank.

A graduate of the former North Adams State College, now MCLA, she received her BS in business administration in 1993 and was a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society. She is a current member of the Western Mass Compliance Association and is also a member of the Berkshire Hills Chorus of Sweet Adelines International. Boudreau resides in Clarksburg with her husband and two children.



As CSR/IRA administrator, in addition to her customer service responsibilities, Hamilton is responsible for ensuring that all customer retirement accounts meet regulatory requirements. She is also responsible for staying current with the laws and regulations and the day-to-day oversight of IRAs as well as employee training.

Hamilton joined the bank in April of 1985 as a teller and later moved to the customer service position.  She resides in Adams with her husband and two sons.

Adams Free Library Pastel Painting Workshops

ADAMS, Mass. — Award-winning pastel artist Gregory Maichack will present three separate pastel painting workshops for adults and teens 16+, to be hosted by the Adams Free Library. 
 
Wednesday, April 24 The Sunflower; Wednesday, May 8 Jimson Weed; and Thursday, May 23 Calla Turned Away from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  
 
Registration is required for each event.  Library events are free and open to the public.
 
These programs are funded by a Festivals and Projects grant of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
 
This workshop is designed for participants of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Attendees will create a personalized, original pastel painting based on Georgia O’Keefe’s beautiful pastel renditions of The Sunflower, Jimson Weed and Calla Turned Away. All materials will be supplied. Seating may fill quickly, so please call 413-743-8345 to register for these free classes.
 
Maichack is an award-winning portraitist and painter working primarily in pastels living in the Berkshires. He has taught as a member of the faculty of the Museum School in Springfield, as well as at Greenfield and Holyoke Community College, Westfield State, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
