DALTON, Mass. — Berkshire Lyric invites children ages 6 to 13 to sing with The Blafield Children’s Chorus at their 2015 Summer Choral Music Camp.

The annual weeklong camp will take place Aug. 3-7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the First Congregational Church of Dalton. Participants will sing, learn about music, and have fun with the Blafield Children’s Chorus as they look forward to their 2015-2016 Season.

The week is tuition-free for current chorus members as well as children considering joining the chorus in the fall and is supported by Berkshire Lyric.

The Blafield Children’s Chorus is part of Berkshire Lyric’s family of choruses and presents five high quality programs throughout Berkshire County during the year. During the past year, they have performed with Berkshire Lyric Chorus in an opera program at The Colonial Theater in Pittsfield as well as at several holiday concerts. They also present their own concert every spring. Their regular rehearsals take place on Saturday mornings at the Berkshire Athenaeum and will begin on Sept. 12 for the new year. The upcoming season concludes with a concert in Tanglewood’s Seiji Ozawa Hall.

The Choral Music camp week in Dalton will be led by Jack Brown, artistic director of Berkshire Lyric and faculty member at Simon’s Rock College and at The Hotchkiss School. Parents may register children at the church on Aug. 3 at 9 am. For further information, call Jack Brown at 413-298-5365.
