Berkshire Force Drops One-Run Decision to Gainesville, Fla.
NEWBERRY, Fla. -- Gainesville, Fla., scored two runs in the top of the seventh to earn a 4-3 win over the Berkshire Force in the Babe Ruth Softball 14-and-under World Series on Monday.
The Force rallied from a 2-0 deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth.
Tess Lyon and Lauren Cowlin each drove in a run for the Force, which got two hits from Brianna Clary.
Mary Grace Lee went the distance in the circle for Berkshire.

NEWBERRY, Fla. -- The Berkshire Force exploded for six runs in the second inning on the way to a 7-2 win over Ocala, Fla., on Monday morning in the playoff bracket of the Babe Ruth Softball 14-and-under World Series.
Mary Grace Lee went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and an RBIfor Berkshire, which improved to 3-2 in pool play.
In the circle, Lee allowed just one earned run despite scattering seven hits and seven walks in a complete-game effort. Ocala left eight runners on base.
Tess Lyone went 2-for-4, and Lauren Cowlin was 1-for-1 with an RBI and scored two runs.
