BENNINGTON, Vt. — Representatives of the Catamount Rotary donated 1,280 gently used books and about two dozen new books to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Pediatrics on Tuesday.

The books will be distributed during patients’ regular well-child visits to encourage literacy and a love of reading.

Betsy Browning and Amy Carey of the Catamount Rotary presented the books. Accepting the donations were nurses Christina Grupe, Jessica Deysenroth and Michelle Arbogast as well as doctors Martin Luloff, Meghan Gunn and Lynn Mann.
