Williams Men's, Women's Hockey Win

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Williams College men's hockey team came away with a narrow 4-3 victory over the Wesleyan Cardinals Saturday afternoon
 
The Ephs scored three goals in the second period to propel them to another four-point weekend.
 
Senior netminder Noah Klag made 27 saves for the Ephs (15-4-1, 11-2-1 NESCAC), while Dawson Sprigings made 28 saves in net for the Cardinals (2-11-8, 2-6-7). 
 
Wesleyan took a 2-0 lead after the first period, but the Ephs answered with three goals in the second. Roberto Cellini and Greg Johnson each scored before Tyler Young scored a shorthanded goal to give Williams the lead. Cellini added a goal in the third.
 
Williams takes a five-game winning streak into Thursday's game against Middlebury at Lansing Chapman Rink.
 
WOMEN'S HOCKEY
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Christina Cleroux made 22 saves to earn her third shutout of the season on Saturday as the Williams women's hockey team beat Trinity, 4-0.
 
Annie Rush, Talia Simon, Kearan Burke and Alex Lovaas scored for Williams (12-8-0, 8-6-0).
 
The Ephs face off against Oswego State Friday night.
 
WRESTLING
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Williams wrestling team Saturday hosted No. 9 Ithaca College, Oneonta State, and Wesleyan University on Senior Day.
 
The Ephs (12-4) opened the day battling Oneonta State and Williams claimed a decisive 36-19 win notching six pins. Eph winners via pin included Matt Morris (125), Ben Morton (133), Jake Savoca (149), Tim Garripoli (165), Chris Chorzepa (184) and Anthony Brooks (197).
 
In their second match of the day the Ephs again posted six pins. In downing Little Three and NESCAC foe Wesleyan, 43-10, the Ephs showed how far they have progressed since facing Wesleyan on Jan. 22 in the third place match at the NEWA Duals. Back then, the Ephs edged Wesleyan by two points, 24-22.
 
n the 16th ranked Ephs' final match of the day they were paired with No. 9 Ithaca.
 
Ithaca wasted no time in establishing control of the match winning the first seven bouts and building a lead of 24-0, before Eph junior Chris Chrzepa won 7-4 at 184. Chorzepa went 3-0 on the day and has extended his season long win streak to 33.
 
Next Saturday the Ephs will head to Springfield College to compete in a tri-match at noon against Springfield and WPI.

Clark Art Presents Music At the Manton Concert

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Clark Art Institute kicks off its three-part Music at the Manton Concert series for the spring season with a performance by Myriam Gendron and P.G. Six on Friday, April 26 at 7 pm. 
 
The performance takes place in the Clark's auditorium, located in the Manton Research Center.

Born in Canada, Myriam Gendron sings in both English and French. After her 2014 critically-acclaimed debut album Not So Deep as a Well, on which she put Dorothy Parker's poetry to music, Myriam Gendron returns with Ma délire – Songs of Love, Lost & Found. The bilingual double album is a modern exploration of North American folk tales and traditional melodies, harnessing the immortal spirit of traditional music.
 
P.G. Six, the stage name of Pat Gubler, opens for Myriam Gendron. A prominent figure in the Northeast folk music scene since the late 1990s, Gubler's latest record, Murmurs and Whispers, resonates with a compelling influence of UK psychedelic folk.
