Letter: 1st Amendment Audit

To the Editor:

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately about 1st Amendment audits. I see North Adams has gotten its first 1st Amendment audit performed by capitaldistrictcopblock and failed.

Citizens from all over the country perform these audits to see how police respond. Just search YouTube for 1st Amendment audit and you will see. Officers should be trained in the latest Supreme Court rulings ... filming the police/filming in public from a sidewalk and filming inside any public access building area are legal activities that should NOT upset a professional police office. Citizens can video ALL public servants from ANY open public access space including City Hall and other public buildings. Anything videoed can usual be seen from Google Maps street view anyway ... don't be one of the cities paying large civil rights settlements.
