Carrier, Wellington Record Double-Doubles in Giorgi League Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Lawrence Carrier and Dave Wellington each had a double-double Wednesday to help lead Troiano & Sons/Kingsbread/Flynn & Dagnoli to a 64-48 win over Central Radio in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.
 
Sedale Jones scored a team-high 18, and Lawrence carrier scored 15 points with 12 rebounds. Dave Wellington had 14 points and 13 boards.
 
For Central Radio, Vernon Cross scored a game-high 19, and Mitch Scace added 10.
 
Wednesday night featured three games at Noel Field.
 
In game two, Mel Robins scored 19 to lead Bopp's Home Improvement to a 68-48 win over the NA Celtics. Ryan Donovan scored 14, and Steve Bopp added 13. For the NA Celtics, Wyane Lavigne scored 18, and Matt Belini had 14.
 
Lifting Standards defeated the league's other Celtics, 44-27, in the nightcap.
 
Kollin Allard scored 14, and Robert Jutras scored 12 in the win. The Celtics got 10 points from Keith Czubryt.
 
Play continues Sunday with two games at Noel Field.

BAAMS' Monthly Studio 9 Series Features Mino Cinelu

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — On April 20, Berkshires' Academy of Advanced Musical Studies (BAAMS) will host its fourth in a series of live music concerts at Studio 9.
 
Saturday's performance will feature drummer, guitarist, keyboardist and singer Mino Cinelu.
 
Cinelu has worked with Miles Davis, Sting, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Tracy Chapman, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Vicente Amigo, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, Branford Marsalis, Pino Daniele, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Salif Keita.
 
Cinelu will be joined by Richard Boulger on trumpet and flugelhorn, Dario Boente on piano and keyboards, and Tony Lewis on drums and percussion.
 
Doors open: 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
 
All proceeds will help support music education at BAAMS, which provides after-school and Saturday music study, as well as a summer jazz-band day camp for students ages 10-18, of all experience levels.
 
Also Saturday, the BAAMS faculty presents master-class workshops for all ages, featuring Cinelu, Boulger, Boente, Lewis and bassist Nathan Peck.
