New PA Joins Southwestern Vermont Medical Center's Emergency Department

BENNINGTON, Vt. — The Emergency Department at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center has welcomed physician assistant Ethan C. Evankow. With this appointment, Evankow also joins the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group.

Evankow earned his master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from University of New England in Maine and his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Vermont. He completed clinical rotations at Mayo Regional Hospital in Maine, Tobey Hospital in Massachusetts, and Pittsfield Medical Associates in Massachusetts, among others.

He is certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

SVMC's Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day and treats over 25,000 patients a year, many with life-threatening conditions. It is equipped with the latest telemedicine technology, which allows emergency specialists from Dartmouth-Hitchcock to consult on cases remotely through a high-definition two-way camera and monitor system. The hospital is located at 100 Hospital Drive in Bennington.
