New Doctor Joins SVMC's Emergency Department

BENNINGTON, Vt. — The Emergency Department at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center has welcomed Dr. Trevor Neal. With this appointment, Neal also joins the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Medical Group.

Neal earned his medical degree from University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed a combined internal medicine and emergency medicine residency at Vidant Medical Center and East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine in North Carolina. He holds a bachelor's in English from Whitman College in Washington State. He completed a post-baccalaureate program in pre-medical studies at the University of Montana.

Neal is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and eligible for certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

SVMC's Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day and treats over 25,000 patients a year, many with life-threatening conditions. It is equipped with the latest telemedicine technology, which allows emergency specialists from Dartmouth-Hitchcock to consult on cases remotely through a high-definition two-way camera and monitor system. The hospital is located at 100 Hospital Drive in Bennington.
