SVHC Taps New Head of Ambulatory and Continuing Care Services
BENNINGTON, Vt. — Bringing more than 30 years of health care executive experience, Angeline Marano has joined the management team at Southwestern Vermont Health Care as its vice president of Ambulatory and Continuing Care Services.
“Angie comes to us with a stellar background in health care management,” said Thomas A. Dee, SVHC’s president and CEO. “We are excited to add her depth of experience to our team as we continue to expand our ambulatory care and post-acute care services.”
Marano began her career as a hospital executive with Humana in South Florida, Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She also worked for the University Hospitals of Cleveland, a major academic institution and primary teaching affiliate for Case Western Reserve University.
She later served as the chief operating officer of the University of Vermont Medical Center and returned to South Florida as the COO for the Memorial Healthcare System, one of the largest public healthcare systems in the United States. During her tenure, Memorial was honored as the American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Award winner.
Most recently, Marano worked for Williams College as the director of Health Services. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. In addition to her work, Marano volunteers on the boards of The Second Chance Animal Center and Village Ambulance Service.
“Watching the staff, taking care of patients just as they would their own families, reminds me why I chose to work in health care,” Marano said. “I am proud to join this great hospital.”
In her new role at SVHC, Marano will provide administrative leadership to the hospital’s 19 primary and specialty care practices, Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, and several hospital-based services, including Imaging, Laboratory, and Rehabilitation services. She will also work to develop the health system’s strategies for creating additional community health care programs.
