Cultural Pittsfield This Week: Feb. 9-15
The 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival takes place Thursday, Feb. 15 - Sunday, Feb. 25 and features music, art, theater, dance, film and more. There is something for the entire family, from Barrington Stage's 10x10 New Play Festival and opera at The Whitney, to 10 Days of Play at the Berkshire Museum and a fireworks extravaganza at the Pittsfield Common.

Artists from Berkshire County and beyond are invited to submit original 2- and
3-dimensional artwork for the group exhibit Forty Shades of Green: Celebrating Ireland & Irish Culture to be held during the month of March at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. The exhibit is co-sponsored by the City of Pittsfield's Office of Cultural Development and the Pittsfield Irish Sister City Committee. Both contemporary and traditional artwork on the theme are encouraged, including photography, painting, sculpture and craft. To submit your work, email a digital version to cultural@pittsfieldch.com by Feb. 15. Those selected will be notified by Feb. 20. One piece may be submitted by each individual. IS183 Art School's Learning Through Arts (LTA) after-school program will showcase the artwork of every one of its students, who attend nine elementary, middle and high schools across the Berkshires. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 5-7 p.m. during the 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival.
