New 'Boutique Bridal Show' Offers Couples Quieter, Personal Meetings With Vendors

Print Story | Email Story

With Valentine's Day having passed and the "engagement season" now officially over, future newlyweds are wondering what's next: "Where will our venue be? Who will cater? Is this vendor reliable?" In a time that should be filled with excitement, the wedding planning process can quickly become a hodgepodge of questions and stress.

Sure, you can ask married friends for advice, but what if you both have different definitions of "good"? Yes, you can read Internet reviews for hours, but who is to say they are completely legitimate? Ultimately, nothing beats meeting with a vendor face-to-face, but it can be tricky to find the time to meet with 10 different vendors separately.

So, how about attending a bridal show and chatting with multiple vendors in the same location? While large bridal expos are convenient, they can become crowded and overwhelming. So then, what's a newly engaged couple to do?

There has been a new emergence lately in the bridal show market of boutique-styled shows that offer a different experience than your traditional bridal expos. Boutique bridal shows allow for couples to meet with various trusted vendors under one roof - without the hectic, sometimes impersonal environment of a traditional bridal expo. While these types of boutique markets are popular in some of the larger urban areas, there haven't been many options for brides and grooms to attend a more local boutique show that features local vendors.

A new wedding venue, Bloom Meadows, located in Hancock, is stepping in to fill that hole this coming March.

At the Bloom Bridal Market, limited ticket sales and generous time blocks allow for a smaller number of attendees to enter the facilities at once. In a quieter setting, you can ask the questions you've been thinking of, receive one-on-one attention and formulate accurate impressions. You won't need to worry about excess background noise or being talked over or rushed along by groups of bustling brides- and grooms-to-be.

Like most boutique-styled shows, vendors apply to join. The Bloom Bridal Market reviews vendors on a first-come, first-serve basis and selects vendors based on quality and reliability until that category is full. Newly engaged couples can rest assured that they are interacting with some of the best local wedding vendors around. To name-drop a few vendors you can see at the market this March: Tricia McCormack Photography, Crisp Catering, Tanya Coatigan Events and Daisy Stone Studio.

If you or anyone you know is recently engaged and navigating the cloudy skies of wedding planning, come to the market on March 24. For tickets, information and full vendor list, visit the Bloom Bridal Market website.
