At a time in our history when war images are omnipresent in our culture, many artists are using their work and artistic voice to bring new perspectives and attention to all aspects and issues of war. In this exhibition Gerald’s work explores, comments on and questions multitude perspectives on race, power, culture and human conflict in relationship to war. His work not only brings a new strong important voice to the discussion but is captivating, imposing and well crafted at the same time. Join us at the NA Public Library for the next installment of our spring play-reading series, Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple" (Female Version). Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit in 1980s NYC. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same. The cast features Penny Bucky, Marissa Carlson, Lyndsay DeManbey, Kim DiLego, Judith Fairweather, Melody Fisher, Jerry Greene, and Brooke Mead, and is directed by Jackie DeGiorgis, assisted by Gabby West. The performance is free, and light refreshments will be served. Due to isolated incidents of strong language, The Odd Couple is not recommended for audience members younger than 12. |

The Drury Performing Arts Center is proud to announce the appearance of NBC’s “The Voice” Season 8 winner, Sawyer Fredericks on Friday, May 18th at 7pm for their annual spring gymnasium show. Sawyer is an 18 year old authentic, original, Americana artist/singer/songwriter from Connecticut. His original music, melodies, and moving performances have helped attract his growing fanbase, selling out shows across the US. Starting his singing career in New York at farmers markets and open mics, Sawyer’s fame kicked off when he won Season 8 of NBC's “The Voice” in 2015. After winning, he later signed with a record label and released his major debut, A Good Storm, which was written almost entirely himself. After touring and performing at numerous concerts and events, in 2017, Sawyer had once again gone independent and has now been busy crafting more music. |

Intro to Creative Career Design: A Workshop for Artists, Musicians, and Creative Humans Design your career to be more sustainable and in line with how you actually like spending your days on this planet. Almost every musician or artist I’ve ever met deals with so much frustration in the struggle towards connecting people with what they create. Despite all their hard work even the most talented artists I know are rarely given the appreciation they deserve.
In this day-long workshop you will get an overview of the two most powerful career design tools that I've found so far in my journey towards radically sustainable artistic practice. Holistic Life Context is a decision making structure that balances quality of life with career goals. It's like the compass that helps you make sure you're always heading in the direction you actually want to go. Creative Resource Exchange Mapping is a project-mapping system that uses permaculture techniques to sustainably redesign your project, practice, or career. It's the map that allows you to chart your course through whatever landscape you're currently in. The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 19 from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm and will include lunch. The cost is $45. There will be health and wellness partners lining the street. There will be music and food! For physical activity this year there will be yoga demos, bicycle riding and more. This event will be in collaboration with BikeFest 2018, be sure to bring your bike to ride all around the street, there will be a bike rode, a small bike pump track, bike decorating, bike education and safety and bike giveaways!
