BENNINGTON, Vt. —The Southwestern Vermont Health Care Foundation New York Regional Advisory Board has welcomed Jan McGuire.

McGuire is a graduate of Vermont College/Norwich University and has worked the past 41 years as a registered professional nurse. Her first 17 years were spent at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center on a medical-surgical unit, including four years as the head nurse of SVMC’s West Wing. Following SVMC, she worked for seven years at Bennington Area Home Health as staff nurse, preceptor, resource person for wound and IV care, and as hospice coordinator. She received the Nurse Excellence Award BAHHA in 2000.

Her final 17-year tenure was spent at Hoosick Falls Central School as the elementary school nurse, responsible for the health care and screening of over 600 students and 100 staff members each year. Now retired, McGuire is looking forward to travel, spending time with family and friends, and continued community involvement.

The SVHC Foundation New York Regional Advisory Board consists of six members. Members are nominated by members of the group or by the health system. The SVHC Foundation’s mission is to engage in development and fundraising activities exclusively for the support of the Southwestern Vermont Health Care Corporation.
