Babe Ruth State Tourneys Get Underway Next Week
Pittsfield's Babe Ruth baseball teams will be looking for W's in Westfield and Worcester next week.
The program's 13- and 14-year-old squads will be on the road to compete in three-team state tournaments in their respective age groups.
The 13s are at Worcester's Vernon Hill, where Pittsfield will take on the Central Mass champions on Wednesday, July 11, at 6 p.m.
Pittsfield then comes home to face Westfield on Friday at 5:30 to see who advances to the championship game, scheduled for 10 a.m. in Worcester on Saturday, July 14.
Westfield's Bullens Field is the site of all four games in the 14-year-old tournament.
Pittsfield faces Blackstone Valley in the first game of the round-robin on Wednesday, July 11, at 7 p.m.
Two days later, Pittsfield plays host Westfield at 7 p.m.
The top two teams from the round robin will meet Saturday, July 14, at 2 p.m. to decide the state championship.
