New Lebanon Swimmers Open with Sweep

NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Most Berkshire County teams get their seasons started on Thursday, but the county swim league got underway Tuesday afternoon across the state line, where the New Lebanon boys and girls swept Hudson.
 
In the girls meet, Kiley Danforth won the 100-yard freestyle and the 500 free to help the girls to a 54-16 win.
 
Danforth touched in 1 minute, 21.35 seconds in the 100 and finished the 500 in 8:56.50.
 
The Tigers also got wins from Alayna Haviland (3:21.47) in the 200 free, Chloe Meyers (3:10.41) in the 200 individual medley and Jasmine Sealise (39.92) in the 50 free.
 
New Lebanon's girls took first place in the two contested relays, the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.
 
Matt Kluck took a pair of events to help New Lebanon's boys to a 37-11 win.
 
Kluck won the 100 free in 1:08.37 and the 100 backstroke in 1:38.17.
 
Liam Buckenroth won the 50 free in 30.50, swam a leg on New Lebanon's winning medley relay quartet and swam an unopposed time of 6:57.58 in the 500 free.

Exploring North Adams' History At the Library

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. On Saturday, April 27, at 11:30 AM, the North Adams Public Library will host an event focusing on the history of North Adams.
 
Led by local historian Gene Carlson and in collaboration with the North Adams Historical Society, attendees will have the opportunity to delve into the city's past.
 
The event will take place in the 3rd Floor Community Room of the North Adams Public Library. Coffee and snacks will be provided. No registration is required, and all ages are welcome to attend.
