What is Walk with Me in the Berkshires?

April 21 - June 01, 2008

Program Guidelines

The Program

Berkshire Medical Center, Fairview Hospital, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts, IBerkshires.com, the Pittsfield Council on Aging, Hillcrest Commons, Williamstown Commons, Kimball Farms, North Adams Commons, Fairview Commons, Mount Greylock Extended Care, Troy's Promotions, and Greylock Federal Credit Union have sponsored a walking program to encourage Berkshire County residents to increase their physical activity. Designed for people of all ages and abilities, the program's first 1,500 registrants will receive a free pedometer (and a T-shirt) to help motivate them to increase the number of steps that they take each day.

Committing to having your name and number of steps shown on the Berkshire Health Systems and Iberkshires.com web sites is a requirement for participation in the program (and allows you to see how your team is doing, as well as the steps recorded by other teams).

Walk with Me in the Berkshires is not a fundraising effort. Running from April 21st through June 1st, the goal of the program is simply to get people to exercise more!
